Listen to Susan and Wendy Fachon be interviewed by Janet Demeter from Jack's Angels on TogiNet as they talk about Shining a Light on Grief.
Both Susan Lataille and Wendy Fachon have each endured the tragic loss of their sons and continue to demonstrate the dignity, love, and healing they have found through the shared process of writing. Both coming to us today from Rhode Island, Susan Lataille is a Certified Master Grief Coach who helps individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one. It took her years to come to a place of acceptance of her own loss, diving head on into sharing her story and then helping others share theirs in her anthology series called “Shining a Light on Grief.” She has been able to guide others in writing their stories to feel lighter, find a new sense of peace and happiness, opening up to life's new possibilities. Wendy Fachon is the Host of Story Walking Radio Hour; she writes for the Natural Awakenings publication and is an environmental educator for the Empowerment Factory, among other outlets. She as been a participating author in the Shining a Light on Grief series and so brings her unique testimony to the effectiveness and power of that process to our audience.
Susan did an amazing job of leading our discussions & trainings & keeping everyone accountable to the publication schedule. She is highly intuitive, & pushed me, in the way I needed to be pushed, to dig down into myself realize how FELT about the loss of my son: "Yes, but I want to hear more of YOUR story?" This experience has made me a better, more expressive writer. -
Susan Lataille is a dynamic, yet humble woman, who takes her mission seriously. Somehow, she takes that mission & turns it into a loving & intentional project, uniting all who are involved towards their one goal. In the process, those who are involved benefit from her constructive oversight & cohesive guidance. It has been an uplifting experience I shall never forget. -
Susan was a compassionate & passionate leader through the writing & publishing process: assembling our group, establishing a safe space for sharing, & helping us bond with each other, write, learn, process our emotions, edit our stories, & to celebrate publication & share the good news with the world that we produced a valuable resource for others who are grieving.
Susan is a true professional. She guided the way, creating community & managing the moving parts of such a big project. She definitely pushed us out of our comfort zones to "Go deeper" into the real emotions of our stories. This made the creative writing outcome a richer story for the reader to identify with & will connect readers to the author's stories the most.
Susan is not only a professional, meaning a task master in meeting deadlines and pushing you to your goals, but she is also a compassionate expert in grief. She understands how it can control you or you can control it! She had given me so many tools to address all my losses as well focus on the future. She is amazing!
